Many thanks to everyone who purchased tickets, and to those who helped in spreading the word. As a result of your contributions and efforts, we have raised $2140 towards Earthrise through this raffle.

We expect to have additional events like this in the future, so stay tuned! In the meantime, all the students who will be able to share in their common humanity through the science of astronomy via Earthrise send their appreciation and thanks.

We are conducting a raffle of the "Star Trek" telescope to raise funds for the Earthrise Project. This telescope is a classic Edmund Scientific 4 1/4" f/10 reflector, mid-1960s vintage instrument in mint condition that was recently donated to the Southwest Institute. During the Great Bird of the Galaxy Star Trek convention that was recently held in El Paso, Texas, all the attending Star Trek cast members and other acclaimed individuals autographed this telescope so that it could be sold to raise funds for Earthrise.

Drawings will initially be held for autographed books by: Isaac Asimov, Janet Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke, David Levy, Gordon Cooper, and William Gaubatz. All entrants, including winners of these books, are eligible for Grand Prize Drawing for the Star Trek telescope.
